Tile Installation Cost Calculator

We don’t publish a price list, because no two floors, showers or walls are the same — the subfloor, the tile and the layout change the number more than the square footage does. This calculator gives you an honest ballpark in under a minute. For your exact price, we come out, measure and leave you a written quote at no cost.

What the estimate covers: installation — labour, mortar, grout, and membranes where they apply. Tile is included only if you tick “You supply the tile too”. Before HST; plumbing, electrical, glass and permits are not included.

What moves the price

  • The subfloor. A flat, solid floor is the quickest job we do. A floor that flexes or slopes needs stiffening or levelling first, and tile laid without it cracks.
  • The tile. Large format, natural stone, mosaic and handmade tile all take longer to set properly than standard porcelain or ceramic.
  • The layout. Straight and offset are the baseline. Diagonal, herringbone and chevron add cuts and time.
  • Waterproofing. Every shower we build has a bonded waterproofing membrane and is flood tested. A quote without one is not comparing like with like.
  • What comes out first. One layer of vinyl lifts quickly; three layers of old flooring over boards does not.

Why a free visit beats any online number

We check the subfloor for flex and moisture, measure properly, and look at what’s behind the walls before we put a number on paper. The written quote you get is what you pay.
